LAERKE HAIBERG SUTCLIFFE
Laerke was Born in Copenhagen, to an architect father and in to a furniture making family (JC A/S Snedkeri). Every day she was surrounded by and immersed in design that became an essential part of her life. Laerke’s style is embedded in the Danish culture of simplicity, use of light, colour and texture, composed with an international edge of breaking the rules, mixing periods and styles into a more eclectic style.
With an Economist degree background specializing in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Lærke founded House of Scandinavia importing Danish design into the UK market. For twelve years Laerke has worked as a design consultant in the UK market. This position has lead her to close working relationships with leading furniture companies both in Denmark and UK, such as Carl Hansen, Eilersen, Dinesen, Erik Joergensen, Pandul and in the UK, Conran Shop, Skandium, Viaduct and twentytwentyone, to name a few. Working on the business side of the design world gives Laerke another insight in to the industry.
Past projects include Town-house DK, a Danish home in London, exhibition stand designs, interior design for country houses, a Shoreditch office interior and a showroom design for a leading furniture company. Current work in progress involves residential and conceptual exhibition design both in the UK and abroad.
